Pathways to Wellness Initiative

Urban Native Collective has dedicated itself as an organization to stand with our Indigenous sisters, Two-Spirit , Non binary, Women of color, and all Indigenous relatives by securing funding and gathering resources to provide mental health services, free of charge.

Why this is important- The healing and counseling program allows for our relatives to see one of the mental health specialists partnering with UNC, to process and heal from issues such as ancestral trauma related to boarding schools and MMIP,  to emotional abuse, as well as any other issues that uniquely affect our communities. A study performed in 2015 by the Urban Indian Health Commission states that, “...studies have indicated that up to 30 percent of all American Indian and Alaska Native adults suffer from depression (SAMSHA, 1999) and there is a strong reason to believe the proportion may be even greater among those living in cities.”

Pathways to Wellness Fund

12/6/2024 BrEAKING NEWS:

Thank you to our anonymous donor who gave $30,000 to support our 2025 Pathways to Wellness Fund! We only have $5,000 left to raise!

The Urban Native Collective is breaking barriers to ensure access to compassionate, culturally grounded mental health care for Indigenous and BIPOC communities. Through our Pathways to Wellness Fund, we create safe, empowering spaces where individuals with intersecting marginalized identities—such as 2SLGBTQIA+, Disabled, and Neurodivergent kin—can connect with identity-affirming, culturally responsive therapy. Our provider partners are not only professionally licensed but deeply rooted in liberation-focused approaches to healing, representing the diverse communities we serve. Together, we’re restoring mental health access as a sacred act of resilience and collective care.

Your donation is a direct investment in mental health equity, healing intergenerational wounds, and supporting Indigenous and BIPOC wellness. Every dollar counts:

  • $25 – Helps cover part of a single therapy session

  • $55 – Contributes to the cost of culturally responsive care

  • $110 – Covers half the cost of a single therapy session

  • $220 – Provides one therapy session for a community member in need

  • $2,640 – Sponsors a full year of therapy sessions for someone in our community

Each time we reach our fundraising goal of $35,000, we open the door to 10-15* new applicants, offering up to 12 free sessions per person.

*some folks use all 12 sessions while others use more or less, depending on needs.
