Indigenous Pages
Lending Library
The Indigenous Pages Lending Library is housed in Urban Native Collective’s Native Sovereignty Center in the neighborhood of Northside in Cincinnati. Our library is more than just a collection of books. It is a vibrant hub that helps in our mission of education, and support while providing resources to our Urban Native relatives. It is a space where the tradition of storytelling is celebrated and preserved through the written word.
Our library is an integral piece of the Native Sovereignty Center, serving as a gathering place for community members to connect, learn, and engage with Indigenous knowledge through literature. We organize author readings, programs, workshops, and cultural events that bring people together to explore Indigenous storytelling. Much like our ancestors, through these stories, we encourage dialogue, foster cultural humility and understanding, and promote cross-cultural exchange.
The library offers educational materials for readers of all ages - from children's books to young adult and adult selections. Our curated collection of books by Indigenous authors, with curation support from Birchbark Books, helps readers gain insights into Native cultures, histories, and contemporary issues. We strive to make our library inclusive to all, and are dedicated to assisting visitors in finding the books that resonate with their interests and needs. We also actively seek input from our community to ensure that our collection reflects their experiences and interests.
The Indigenous Pages Lending Library is a place where stories come alive, where knowledge is shared, and where the power of Indigenous literature can be celebrated. We invite you to come visit our library and find, and borrow a book.
