Indigenous Peoples’ Day Convergence 2023 is back with an art show, speakers, and our annual Feast!
Friday October 6th: Gallery opening at the 21C Museum Hotel, Cincinnati. This event will showcase the work of Indigenous artists and feature performances from the Copper Face United Pow Wow Dancers and Leilani Clark. 6-9pm on the second floor.
Saturday October 7th: Our “Speaker Series” will include performances from Copper Face United Pow Wow Dancers at the 21C Museum Hotel, Cincinnati. 11am-8pm on the second floor. Speakers will include: Jordan Murica, Leilani Clark, Victoria Carrington, and Indigo Gonzales. Complementary coffee and tea from Deeper Roots Coffee will be available from 11am-1pm.
Sunday October 8th: On this day the members of the organization, artists, speakers, and performers will spend the day visiting with each other and resting. Rest is integral to our Indigenous values and is a crucial piece of caring for our community. We encourage you to visit the gallery exhibition at the 21C Museum Hotel, Cincinnati.
Monday October 9th: Feast and celebration at Hoffner Park in Northside, Cincinnati. 5-9pm. We ask people to bring Indigenous dishes from their respective cultures to share. Performances from Copper Face United Pow Wow Dancers from 6-8pm.
*We kindly request that folks joining us for our Feast consider bringing a chair or blanket, mess kit, and a reusable water bottle. This simple gesture helps us minimize waste, reduce our environmental footprint, and show greater respect for our planet and Creator.
