Sylvia Pinto, Board Secretary

Sylvia Pinto is a dedicated advocate for mental health, peacebuilding, and Indigenous sovereignty. Of Pipil descent from El Salvador and born and raised on Tongva lands in Los Angeles, California, she holds a Master of Social Work, grounding her practice in trauma-informed care, healing justice, and community well-being.

With her professional training and lived experience, Sylvia brings a culturally responsive lens to her work, emphasizing the deep connections between individual healing, collective resilience, and cultural identity. Her approach honors Indigenous knowledge and centers the voices of those most impacted by systemic inequities.

As a peace advocate, Sylvia has supported efforts that promote dialogue, conflict resolution, and community empowerment. She is especially committed to uplifting Indigenous-led movements that protect cultural traditions, advance justice, and affirm sovereignty.
